Weeks 7 & 8/Holidays start

Wow, what an action-packed two weeks. School has been full-on on the lead-up to the official Toussaint holiday, which runs from now until 8 November. Liam deemed Week 8 a "bonne semaine" and Tom said Week 7 was "pretty good" while Week 8 was a "comme ci, comme ça" week. Both of them hung on (sometimes easily, it seemed, and other times barely) until this Friday and I detect a serious need for a break, which they will fortunately get.

The last two weeks have particularly busy as we've had 11 people visiting (the adults at least) for a family practice medical convention ("evidence-based medicine" is clearly on the move). Not all staying here in our apartment but all in Paris. It was lovely to see the Madisonian crew, complete with some of their additional family members and friends in tow from various cities and countries. Thanks to Melissa, Kathleen, Anne-Marie, Phil, Robin, Beth, Jonah, Ezra, Miriam, Garrick and Gunnar for making such an effort to visit.

I'll load up quite a few pics of the last two weeks and let the images speak for themselves. Thanks to Anne-Marie Lozeau for the "thinkers" photo too. Unfortunately I was unable to capture everyone on the camera so some visiting faces are sadly missing or underrepresented.

Some of the images also include this fantastic roller blading event that happens every Sunday. 4,000-5,000 bladers take over the city, with official Ville de Paris assistance (hence the police on blades to clear the traffic). Ian (Jan's sister's husband) and Anya (Jan's niece) are regular participants. The one of Jan, Beth, Anne-Marie and Robin will let you get a sense of the size of our kitchen...not large to say the least...quite a cozy spot though as long as you know and like the people in it!).

Bye for now...Kris
