Dusk emerges on a Saturday eve

A lively week and weekend in Paris. School, work, French classes, and so on kept us all busy this week. Then Jan and I left the boys at some friends’ apartment and we went to listen to some fantastic Australian guitarists (Slava and Leonard Grigoryan) at Les Invalides in a parlour room with what must have been 10 metre tall ceilings and huge portrait paintings from the 1600-1700 era. We then had a fun post-concert reception at the Australian ambassador's relatively sumptuous and large apartment (her outside deck is as big as our apartment!) with an amazing view of the nighttime lights (and a direct view of the Eiffel Tower). And now as the dusk emerges on a Saturday eve in our neighborhood (see the pics above) we couldn’t help but look in amazement at the chocolate display in our local boulangerie-patisserie (and it is just a regular establishment). And now the news channels are full of information about the impending end of the gossip (hopefully!) - French President Sarkozy and Carlo Bruni were wed today.

Bonne nuit!
