I was in Brussels for three days of research this week...it was action-packed and very successful with respect to what I needed to do. In some ways if I had to leave Paris (and Europe) tomorrow that would be fine now that this Brussels trip has been completed.
I spent some time looking for signs of the EU in Brussels...not hard to miss in parts! I actually like the slightly austere architecture where the tens of thousands of Eurocrats are holed up.
