Strikes, mid-term exams and moules

The week started out rough but it has ended in fine shape. Tom's mid-term exams (French, Science, English, Math, History/Geography) all went "easier than expected". This said he studied very hard all fall until the exam phase and really worked hard this week (tutor Jan did a fantastic job as well) so there you go. Liam is off at an Australian friend's apartment on a sleepover tonight so while he was away, and Tom was deserving of a celebration, we took him out to the Académie de la Bière where we feasted on saucisses Allemandes, moules and frites. Tom loved the casual noisy and festive atmosphere (apart from the smoke) and he was a truly happy and relaxed 12 year old boy after ending the week so well.

On two other positive news fronts Liam and the boy who knocked him over "made up" (courtesy of Mdm Feibelman's firm guidance) and the mass transit strike looks like it is ending...we were able to take the Metro to school today (yahoo). I don't know how much longer I could have taken scootering 1/3 of the way across Paris to and from school.

Hope all is well...Happy Thanksgiving to our American friends too.

Bonne nuit!
