Week 4 of school/Saturday night

Hello again...well, Week 4 was officially "good" according to the boys, though they are very tired by the end of the day (hence the collapsing Tom pic). This is a good sign, though I am getting nervous! They must still be in the transition phase...I've heard that the geometry phase in Math (and in French) starts soon for Tom so we better be prepared. But I also heard that some of the teachers say their students pass on information that it is the parents of the bilingual adaptation program children that are causing trouble by being "too nervous and concerned"...the parents should "relax", the teachers said this week at an evening session about the program. I'll have to take this advice into account! This might now be possible as all of the teachers I heard from in two evening sessions this week are simply amazing - professional, fun, and very with it with respect to the learning process in one year adaptation to French programs. Fingers crossed...

Jan is in the middle of fighting off the usual (in Madison) fall sinus infection problem...she is now on the mend thanks to some antibiotics. She was feeling well enough to hit a shopping district today (see pic) as we needed to get watches for the boys so they can keep track of their complicated schedules at school. She's also been busy trying to get some French lessons set up so she can improve her French.

Saturday night is buzzing in Paris - the final two pics are of a brasserie around the corner from us (Le Zeyer, which we've not eaten at yet but which looks lovely), and a 9:00 pm (!) traffic jam on our street as the main street nearby was full of traffic heading towards the centre for who knows what reasons. Funnily enough we rarely have traffic jams on our street apart from when thousands of taxis go on a mass protest (as they did this week in an anti-deregulation protest!), or else if someone is loading up a moving van with furniture (the other drivers just have to be patient...which lasts for a time but then the horns start cranking it up).

Bonne nuit!
